Happy Halloween!

To me, this officially starts the holiday season. Every year I look forward to this time of year. It's like 3 months of continuous decorations and fun.....& I love it!

I also look at a calendar year like a came of Candyland. No one has really understood it like me but I enjoy holidays just like a child enjoys landing on the candies of the Candyland game.

It's exciting!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Oh, and because I love all things Disney, I had to share this little gem that I found...

Bieber Fever...

So, last night was the Justin Bieber concert.

I'll admit, I wasn't looking forward to it. However, I was looking forward to the time I was going to spend with my "Nuggy".

My husband and his brother came along however, decided to hang out in Downtown San Jose to have some beers while my daughter and I saw the concert.

All went as planned.

My daughter got her shirt...

I took some pictures and video...

{forgive the picture quality....taken with my phone}

Couldn't believe that my child yelled out "I love you Justin Bieber" at one point.

That was only after she heard other girls saying it.

Geez...what do girls at my daughter's age know about love??

Silly, silly girls!

The concert was pretty good too. The kid is really talented! And to think he got his start all from Youtube?! Good for him!

All in all, it was good except when a "tiff" happened that had to make the experience go sour. It's just a bummer some people have to behave the way they do.

I think I am done with concerts for now.

Oh wait....

That's right. My husband wants to go to one on Monday in Oakland.

Calgon...take me away!

For Me....?

I need to remember that I have this blog for one purpose. That is to keep a journal of my life, what I am about and my experiences. What I think and feel. All for one person.

I started this whole blog for the sole purpose of keeping family members up to date on family stuff and pictures. I thought it was a cute and fun idea. Not many family members jumped on board. For the simple fact that, well...I guess some people don't spend as much time on the computer as others. Noted!

Then it became an outlet to voice my feelings and thoughts when I needed to. When I'm not feeling myself, yet alone instead.

It worked.

Then people listened and it helped to know I wasn't alone.

Then it got to the point that I put up a blog tracker. Letting me know how many people came to read what I had to say. WOW! People want to hear what I have to say?!

They then would comment! I loved it!

It became a desired thing within my blog. Log in just to see if anyone "loved me".

Sick! I know. I'm honest. I know I'm not alone either.
{That's okay. I'm sure they have a support group for us.}

Then it all started to slow down. My stats weren't as high as they were. My comments were fewer. Why? I asked myself. Did I offend someone? Am I just not "interesting" enough anymore? What happened?

That's when I realized to myself....

"Snap out of this obsession, Kimmy! Really?! How pathetic!"

This isn't for me, this isn't for anyone but one person.....

She is the one that I write for. One day I won't be here and I would love for her to have something to read to remember me by. Something special to hold onto.

{Especially since I would drive her nuts by blogging all the time.}

So in all reality, yes, I still do this for me but I'm doing it for my daughter and whether or not I get "followers" or "comments" shouldn't matter.

Who are you blogging for?

A Whirlwind of a Year

I would have to say that this has probably been the most stressful year for us as of yet.

From two major events in our life (one not completely over however, today has just officially made it official). Making something officially official is big and not always in a good sense. However, we are taking life in strides and looking at things in a positive manner. In fact, things are going to be okay. Perhaps even better now!

We have each other.

We also have the good Lord who has seen us through our trials and helped us through them and made us wiser and stronger because of them.

What keeps you grounded?

Lately....

I've been grumpy. I just don't know what has come over me these days.

Every little thing has been getting on my nerves from the constant chatter to the garbage not being taken out to the laziness.

Oh the laziness...

Then, a week and a half ago we found out that a close friend, Anna, lost her mom. It was completely unexpected and she went fast. From water in her lungs in the hospital to being released to go home to back in the hospital with pneumonia in a coma and passing away all in a 2 week period. She was only 63 yrs old.

Every week on Tuesdays, my friend, Jenny and I go over to visit Anna. Just our weekly visit for us girls to get together.

Jenny and I had gone in on flowers for Anna. So on Sunday, we wanted to stop by and visit Anna and give her the flowers from her "Tuesday girls" since we hadn't seen her since before her mom passed and wanted to let her know we love her and we are here for her.

Since Jenny was taking forever meeting me, I got bored and started goofing off with my phone.

Once Jenny got there, we realized Anna wasn't home at the time. So we just left the flowers on the porch for her.

Such a heartbreaking situation.

Then, this whole week I've been feeling "blah". You know when you eat out and aren't putting good foods in your body, your body starts to feel crappy, basically telling you to "knock it off and start eating right already"?! Yeah, that's how I've been feeling lately.

So how did I fix the problem?

I went walking again!

It felt so good to be out there too.

Oh yeah, and I'm cooking at home again.

It was such a lovely day though! I even saw this pelican....along with two others just moments later.

My husband will be leaving to go out of town here soon, so that may be putting me in a funk also.

Who knows.

I've really missed taking pictures too. I think it's time I find a location and pull out the ol' camera again.

Placerville is really sounding tempting right now.

Leave it to Bieber...

It seems like we've been going to a lot of concerts these days.

Well let's see here...

A week before we went to Disney World, we went to the Jonas Brothers featuring Demi Lovato and Camp Rock

Don't be jealous of our seats {lol...j/k}

Then, just over a week after we got back from Disney World, we went to the Make A Difference Tour staring Christian groups such as

TobyMac

Jason Gray

Whom I met and got his autograph

Third Day

and Michael W. Smith

So needless to say, we've had a concert filled month.

It doesn't end there either.

When we went to the home opener game for the Sharks last weekend, my daughter noticed someone was going to be in San Jose on the 28th.

Justin Bieber!

Since my husband already tackled the Jonas frenzy, he can care less about hearing thousands of screaming girls again, so he just got two tickets this time.
Gonna get our Bieber fever on!
Umm....yeeah!

No giveaway giveaway....but answer revealed!

That's right....that's not a misprint. No one came up with the answer to the giveaway. You know, the one that I mentioned back on my Disney World post.

So, since I know all of you were just dying to know what my daughter's response was to the man who asked her her name, I give you the answer, from the source herself...

Have a great weekend!

Six Word Saturday!

Great Weather To Just Watch Movies!

Last night was the first rain of the season for us and well....as much of a Summer girl that I am, I'm actually enjoying this weather right now. It's perfect to just snuggle up on the couch with a pillow, blanket and a good movie.

Now head on over to Cate's to see what's going on with others this weekend!

It Amazes Me!

My hubby says to me just the other day "To think everyone thought we wouldn't make it, it's everyone else that is divorcing and we're still together. We have beat the odds."

When my hubby and I started dating 17 years ago, things we're fabulous. Things couldn't have been better. We got engaged not more than 2 months after we started to date.

That's when it all went horribly wrong.

We were to get married in 1995. It never happened.....and ya know? I'm glad it didn't. We instead decided to wait. We weren't getting along, constantly fighting. At the same time, I was frustrated at first and complained, we waited. I waited 8 years to get married and I'm glad we did.

Through these years, my friends were constantly there by my side wondering why we still stayed together. They all thought it would never work. At times I was exhausted too but I love him.

Through these years my friends had their relationships. Some longer than mine. In the end, they all have gone separate ways from their spouses. It saddens me too. I feel this generation "plays house" and they just don't put their all into a relationship. Sure, there are those where there is abuse, physical or mental. I know. There are cheaters. The love is gone. All these things are legitimate reasons to leave. Absolutely. In fact, I wouldn't stay either. Other relationships struggle from other things. Things as simple as communication, lack of attention, household neglect, etc. Some people give up too easily. I feel people don't take marriage seriously anymore. Reason is, it can easily be removed with a divorce. That easy, per se.

I, on the other hand, got married, took my vows seriously and I plan to make this work. There are lots of my family members that have gotten divorces and I vowed to be the one to stop it in my family. I didn't want to be like that.

I sure love him!!

On a completely different subject, do you ever notice that every picture I post of my husband, he always has a San Jose Sharks hat and/or shirt on?! Can we just say "OBSESSED!" {lol}

Oh yeah....and don't forget to check out my giveaway here. I'll reveal the winner (if there is one) on tomorrow, Thursday.

Disney World.....Day 1. Plus a Giveaway!

It's been a few weeks since we've been back from vacation and honestly, my husband is Disney'ed out. I on the other hand am NOT!

He's gonna be leaving here in a couple weeks for Michigan to hang out with his cousin and I'm so ready to jump in the car with my daughter and head down to Disneyland. I don't think I could EVER be tired of Disney. No. Sir. Ree!

Anyways, I'm going to be doing a series of post since our trip was 9 days. I'll just start off with day 1, the day we left.

Once we took off, I was watching where we were flying over and I was so excited cause we flew over our neighborhood!!! So of course, I had to take a picture. We live right smack in the middle of the picture! :D

My daughter and some other children got to be flight attendants and pass out goodies to all the passengers. How cool is that, huh?! She had fun too.

See that man there (below) talking to my daughter? You see the back of her head. Well, he asked my daughter what her name was and because we taught her well, I bet you can't guess what her response was?

I'll save that for another post.

GIVEAWAY ALERT!

In fact.....I will give you a $15 Starbucks gift card, if you can guess what she said!

Our favorite ride at Epcot!

We had so much fun the first day, even though it was for a few short hours. We had no idea what was in store for us but we were so ready!

Now for that giveaway.........get guessing!!!

Six Word Saturday!

Let The Sharks Hockey Games Begin!

It's that time of year again. We have season tickets to the Sharks games and today is the kickoff to the season for us since this is the first home game. They're having like a block party for a couple hours before the game starts so we're heading down to San Jose to have a little bit of fun.

We enjoy hanging out in Downtown San Jose with all the restaurants and the energy from all the fans. They decorate downtown with Sharks stuff and it's pretty cool.

What are you doing this weekend?

~~~
Now head on over to Cate's to see what's on everyone's mind.
What I'm Reading....
I was referred to this awesome book from Summer and I have to say, it is helping me!
I like to read but it's just really hard for me to find the time to actually sit down, relax and grab a book and indulge in it for a long period of time. That's why I took the time on vacation while I was on the airplane to read. I'm so glad I did.
I haven't put a dent in it. I'm going on the 4th chapter but in the chapters I have read, I have learned a lot and I have utilized it (with stumbles along the way) in my daily life.
In fact, while on vacation, I learned of something that really bothered me...A LOT! Without the book, I would have let it eat at me and just ruin my entire time on vacation but instead, after reading and learning a better way to handle things in a loving way, I have found myself handling the situation in a better way....God's way!
So, if you like to read, I highly recommend this book.
Thanks again Summer!
It Appears.....
That we don't love our daughter because we gave her the smallest bedroom in the house.
Oh, and it's the same size as the 3rd bedroom in the house so not sure why she's complaining.
The nerve!
I love my child....in fact, there isn't a bone in my body that doesn't love that child!
So how in the world would she think we don't love her all by the simple fact that she has a small room?! First of all, our house is not big by any means....in fact, it's 1,167sq ft. So where is she getting this "champagne" attitude in a "beer" home?
I have never in my life heard a child complain about their room. IN FACT....my bedroom growing up was about the same size and if I complained...oh boy if I complained...my dad would send me into next year.
I think there is one word for this. The little syndrome called.....SPOILED!
Okay, let me first say, I am old school. If my child needs a spanking, she'll get one but that isn't often. Also, I don't put up with crap either. I whip my child into shape...AND QUICK! She is a good kid, and I'm not the only one that says that. She behaves very good (but she is 8yr also so she has her moments). She gets fabulous grades in school (she's advanced for her grade). It always makes me proud when we are in public and she is behaving and staying with me and I see other children "off the hook"!
HOWEVER....
I think we do things as a family WAY. TOO. MUCH. that she has become...well...spoiled!
Perhaps we need to downsize on our vacations.
Good thing we got Disney World out of the way!
Oh, and I believe Spring cleaning is coming a bit late this year.....but....
IT'S COMING!!!!
Her room is gonna feel nice and big when I'm done with it!!!
