Writer's Workshop

Mama Kat is at it again. This week I thought I would do a bit of a challenging one. One that got my creative mind working, along with my husbands too!! Head over to Mama Kat's to participate.

This week I choose:
#2
Write a 26-line poem using all the letters of the alphabet, where the first line starts with the letter "A," the second "B," the third "C," etc., culminating with the final line starting with "Z."

I first had to think of a subject to right about and since I love vacationing and everything about it, that's what I went with. I hope you all enjoy it!

Vacations

Another vacation has gone
But a new one is on our mind
Can't stop thinking where
Don't know what I'll find

Every place is enticing
Fiji sure sounds great
Gorgeous beaches and sun
Happy with my mate

Ireland is a thought
Jamaica I like better
Kissing under a palm tree
Loving the fantastic weather

Miami I have already been
Night life is always going
Ocean Drive is the scene
People and alcohol are overflowing

Quiet beaches is the way to go
Relaxing with a Mai Tai in hand
Sun beams shining on me
Tempted to move to this land

Unable to choose our next destination
Various places are one of a kind
Wishing I were still there
Xerox these moments in our mind

You and me baby
Zero to vacation in 60 seconds!

  10. Visiting from Mama Kat's ...

I have one word for you: WOW!
You knocked this one out of the park! Not only did you get by the difficulty of the structure but you made it rhyme, you made sense and it was a fun poem to read. I didn't even realize it was the alphabet after a while. You are really gifted. I loved it ... and now I'm going to call my travel agent and start planning our next vacation -- you've got me in the mood.

  14. I'm visiting from the writer's workshop.

Great poem. I'm so impressed with the couple I've read where the author (and you are one of them) actually get a poem to work like a poem within the abc-z guidelines!

    Cute blog background, too!
