My Completed Assignment

Last week was a hard one for me to do but this week I have found the courage to do it. It's the weekly assignment over at Mama Kat's. Here are this weeks prompts:

1.) Write from the point of view of a glass at the edge of the table.

2.) Describe a typical day during your Jr. High years.

3.) Why do you write?

4.) When I'm around too much negativity I...

5.) You've been hired as a writer for "Late Show with David Letterman." Your first assignment is to come up with a witty, nonpolitical Top Ten list for him to read on air.

I choose........#3

Why do I write? Actually, if you want to get technical, I'm not writing. I'm typing. ;o) This whole blogging is fairly new to me to be honest. I was introduced to it by a friend, a fellow blogger. She sent a link to her friends to keep up on the latest and greatest. I figured I would read and keep up with what was new. I saved her link and would check in every now and then. At that point in time, blogging didn't really appeal to me. Plus, I didn't think I had the time or thought I couldn't come up with stuff to blog about.

A couple months went by and I started to think to myself "I'm sure I could come up with stuff to write type about." Then I also started to think how I have such a hard time keeping in contact with distant family and friends and all I would have to do is blog once and that would keep everyone in the "know", you know?! I thought it would be fun and also a place for me to be "ME". So I created my very first blog. How excited I started to get about it too!!

As I created my first blog post, I thought I would send out a nice email to family and friends to the link so that if they wanted to keep tabs, it was there for their reading pleasures...ha! I sent the email out and felt a sense of accomplishment. That night, while laying in bed I started to think. When I start thinking about something, something that I have doubts about, I have to take action......ASAP!

Now, when I started the blog and sent the emails out, I didn't think clearly about WHO I sent the emails out to until after the fact. That's when my brain got ticking while I was laying in bed. The thing about my blog I wanted was for it to be a place that I can vent, rejoice, have concerns and just plan be ME! I didn't want to have to censor myself. This is MY place! And when I took all that into consideration, that's when I decided I needed to redo my blog address, blog and resend out emails cause I had just invited my in-laws to my sanctuary. THAT was not going to happen. Not here, not now, not EVER! Sure, my husband has access to "my sanctuary" cause what I put on here he already knows how I feel as he has similar feelings as well. HOWEVER, I have had to delete a couple by his request. Being the wonderful wife I am ;o) (sure, maybe I violated him for the few hours it was up), I respectfully deleted it.

Another reason I write type is because I have started to try and work on myself, personally and spiritually. So much so that I felt I needed to start another blog which I feel helps me get issues out that I'm dealing with in terms of continuous faith in God. It's just a place that I can put out my feelings cause I have issues with my husband and his lack of faith, my efforts of being a better Christian and hopes for my child in being a Christian herself. I don't want to be a hypocrite. Call myself a Christian and then do everything against what I believe in.

These are the reasons I write type. I have a sense of relief if I can get things off my mind while other times, well......I just like to share happy times with my family, friends and YOU! ;o)

I can definitely relate to having a sanctuary. I sent my link out to all my in-laws, but I like it too much to change it. So, I tend to censor myself but I also gush about how much I love my husband. So, you know, they'll be inclined to think I'm pretty much amazing!

So true that blogging can be a release. I use it to just think more than anything. And I print each post and archive them in a binder for my daughter's reading enjoyment later in life. You know ~ just in case blogger deletes my stuff. Wonderful Post!!!

Girl,
Writing is the acting of putting thoughts down on a medium. Not how we actually do the writing, typing, or crayon moving. You are funny.

I so understand the In law thing.
I have a blog that no one but me sees.

Happy typing, er. I mean writing! LOL

Good post. I shared my blog address, and was never inclined to move it. So I have to censor things quite a bit over there. But fortunately, not many of my family have actually ever read it, so it doesn't get too bad for me.

I started in very much the same way. My husband reads my blog too and has filtered some of the content at times. He gets embarassed if I mention him too often. There have been times I wish he didn't know about it. :)

All good reasons to blog... write... type... whatever. Also the online friendships you make are an amazing bonus.
