Six Word Saturday!

Did My Morning 3 Mile Walk!!

This is actually where I go walking, in the pictures. That is exactly how it looked today also.

BEA.U.TI.FUL!!!

A bit windy though but I'll take that if it means sunshine! As I said here, I started walking this trail on Tuesday and I'm doing this on my days off, except on Sundays. It's a 3 mile walk which has views of the lake. Watching people fish, jogging and walking their dogs. It's so peaceful!

Getting Back on Track

weighing scale Pictures, Images and Photos

{via}

These last few weeks I've been feeling, hmm.....well, a little blah with myself.

I've been eating whatever and just not really paying attention. That's when I tend to blow it. I make a point to step on the scale just about every morning. It's my way of staying on track.

Ever since I went to Weight Watchers and lost this weight, I've made a pack with myself. I lost this weight and I'm not gonna blow it. I didn't lose it for nothing!

With weighing myself almost daily, I seem to teeter between 5 lbs. Well, for these last few weeks I seem to be on the higher end of the 5 lbs. I can still fit into my jeans, which is a good thing but to me, this is where we make our mistakes. Not acknowledging it and doing something about it. So, I am acknowledging it and doing something.

Yesterday I started walking again! YAH! I'm so happy too! It was a 3 miles walk around a lake. I met up with my SIL and had my daughter and dog. It felt good to get out there and focus on me and my health. My legs are super sore today though but that's okay.

I plan on getting back out there tomorrow and hopefully Saturday and every week hereafter.

With this Vegas trip coming up, I need to look my best, right?! ;O)

What are you doing to stay focused or just just taking time out for YOU?

9 Years Ago Today...

I was scrambling to get myself put together. I was exhausted but excited all the same.

We were in Vegas. We were to be at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

I kept forgetting everything. Good thing for my BFF, she was my "go to" girl.

Once I was dressed and ready, that's when the moment began....

I was getting married to my best friend, the love of my life, my husband! ♥

I hope to have many many more amazing years with this man also!

Six Word Saturday!

Two More Weeks Until Vegas, Baby!

My husband and I make it an annual trip for our anniversary to go to Vegas, ya know...since we got married there and all. We really love Vegas! I'm not a gambler but my husband likes to play Texas Hold 'em and BlackJack. I'll play but mostly, I like to take the money my husband wins and create a stash so he doesn't spend what he won! Then maybe head on over to Guess and spend a couple hundred on a few tops (My "last year's" fun!).

Anyways, this trip we are seeing Cirque du Soleil's Zumanity. We already saw that show a couple years ago (and ended up on stage!) but with the package deal we got, it was the only available show that we cared to see. We do plan on seeing a couple other shows while we're there though. Ones we haven't actually seen.

Needless to say, we are very excited! My husband and I get a trip by ourselves once every other year so it's well deserved!!

Now head on over to Cate's and see what everyone else is saying

Five Question Friday!

1. If you could go back to college would you change your major? Or, if you were to go to college right now...what major would you choose?

Well, first of all...I only went to a junior college and it was only for a couple courses. No major course taking. Lame, I know. Personally, I wanted to be an Interior Designer but once I got with my husband, the desire to go back to school never appealed to me. Lame again, I know. So instead, my BFF and I decided to take a few accounting classes, just to sharpen up some accounts payable and receivable skills. Yah, I know. But if I could do it all over again, yes! I would have taken some photography classes but then again, I didn't know I would one day become so passionate about it.

2. What do you love most about your home?

Not to be so cliche but my family, of course. Now if you're talking about the physical part of my home, it sure wouldn't be the kitchen. (Note to self: Next house will have a bigger kitchen & a pantry!) I would have to say my hall bathroom that my husband and I redid. Also the front and backyard. We redid those also and before they were hideous. Not anymore!!

3. What types of books do you like to read (if you like to read at all)?

Danielle Steel! I just love her novels, although it's been awhile since I've actually sat down and read them. My daily read is more inspirational and spiritual. Jesus Calling by Sarah Young and The Power of a Praying Wife by Stormie Omartian. Wonderful reads! I also try and read my Bible but I struggle.

4. What is the grossest thing you've ever eaten?

A couple things. I actually stopped eating it cause it grossed me out. First thing was food from this Mexican restaurant out here. Looking at the chicken, it looked transparent. Ewwwww! Something was so wrong with that. I told my husband I wasn't eating it. Forget the money. Yuk! He ate it but was grossed out too but he has a hard time wasting thing. Fortunately, we didn't get sick but believe me, we never went back. Oh, and the restaurant closed. I saw that one coming!

Next was one morning when I still lived at my parent's house. My mom was making oatmeal but we ran out of milk so we ran down to the convenient store and picked some up. The date on it said it was good but when I was eating my oatmeal, there was something in it floating around. Yuk! It was at the beginning stages of being spoiled.

Okay, I'm officially grossed out now!

5. If you HAD to be a character on a TV show, whom would you be?

Who would I be? Hmmm? Well, since I only watch a few TV shows (Ghost Whisperer and Desperate Housewives) the rest are more reality type shows like Kitchen Nightmare, the Food Network and HGTV shows, I don't think those count. So maybe Susan (Teri Hatcher) on Desperate Housewives. She seems to have the same personality as I do. At least that's what my husband and daughter says. She's goofy (me), she's clumsy (me), she talks a lot (me), she's a mom (so am I), she's a brunette (me too) and she loves her family (me too!). Yep...so I'll say Susan! Oh yeah, and Teri Hatcher is from Sunnyvale, here in the Bay Area and I live out here too! Bay Area that is. :O)

Fabulous Foto Friday!

Hosted by RockYouPhotos.com

This past weekend we went camping in our usual spot. We had time to actually spend some "quality time" together as a family too....which was very nice and much needed!

We played some games,

hiked on the fire trails so our dog could go,

drank some beer (okay, so maybe just my husband did),

roasted hot dogs over the fire,

took some pictures,

and just spent some one on one time together!

Hope you have a FABulous weekend!!

When I was a kid....

Yesterday when we were driving back home from camping, we were listening to K-Love on the radio. Sterling, one of the VJ's shared an email she received since she was turning 30 yrs old, so she thought she would share it with all her listeners.

It was so good, I just have to share it with you!

This is for those of you who grew up in the 80's or before, like myself.

Enjoy!

{Email}

When I was a kid, adults used to bore me to tears with their tedious stories about how hard things were. When they were growing up; what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning.

Uphill...barefoot......BOTH ways!

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

And I remember promising myself that when I grew up, there was no way I was going talk to my kids about how hard I had it and how easy they've got it!

But now that I'm over the ripe old age of thirty, I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today. You've got it so easy!

And I hate to say it, but you kids today - you don't know how good you've got it! I mean, when I was a kid we didn't have The Internet. If we wanted to know something, we had to go to the library and look it up ourselves - in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!! We had to actually write somebody a letter, with a pen! Then you had to walk all the way across the street and put it in the mailbox and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napster or I tunes - you had to wait around all day to tape it off the radio and the DJ'd usually talk over the beginning and mess it all up!

There were no CD players! We had tape decks in our car. We'd play our favorite tape and "eject" it when finished and the tape would come undone, 'cause that's how we rolled, dig?

We didn't have anything fancy like Call Waiting! If you were on the phone and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it! And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either! When the phone rang, you had no idea who it was! It could be your school, your mom, your boss, a collections agent, you just didn't know!!! You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Playstation video games with high-..resolution 3-D graphics! We had the Atari 2600! With games like 'Space Invaders' and 'asteroids'. Your guy was a little square! You actually had to use your imagination!! And there were no multiple levels or screens, it was just one screen forever! And you could never win.

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide to find out what was on! There was no Cartoon Network either! You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning. Do you hear what I'm saying!?! We had to wait ALL WEEK for cartoons!

And we didn't have microwaves, if we wanted to heat something up we had to use the stove ... Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about!

You kids today have got it too easy. You're spoiled.

You guys wouldn't have lasted five minutes back in 1980 or before!
