Six Word Saturday!

Can't Wait To See Newsboys Today!

We've saw Newsboys a year and a half ago and we're going to see them again today!

They are one of our favorite Christian groups so we're pretty excited!

Most people, when they think of Christian music, they think of hymns and traditional music but the Christian groups today have reached out to all different genres of music just to get the Word of God out and celebrate what He has done for us and the truth and what we have to look forward to, in His name!

Their music has done just that for me!

Love is in the air...

{via}

I love holidays!

Especially one's where there are pretty colors and cute hearts all around.

I love any reason to go out to dinner or even maybe a movie.

I know a lot of people find it to be too commercialized and I agree but I still like to have fun with it.

I actually have The View on in the other room and I caught a glimpse of Barbara Walters touching on a issue that arises in some schools when it comes to Valentine's.

She said this

"I don't think kids, think schools should be passing out Valentine's"

When I heard that I thought to myself, "why the heck not?" but then I continued to listen as she continued to say that some kids don't get any or there are the popular girls. She brought up how her daughter one year gave a Valentine to everyone in her class and she didn't even receive one.

Honestly, I agree.....to an extent.

My daughter's class, and has done so every year, creates a list of all the children in each class so that everyone gets a Valentine.

I took my daughter to the store and we picked out girly ones for the girls and NBA ones for the boys and they each get a Twizzler with them. Everyone will be happy!

I have to say though, how proud I am with my daughter. *bragging moment*

You see, there is a boy in her class that doesn't have really any friends. He gets teased and made fun of. He even plays by himself at recess. My daughter has asked if he wants to play but he always declines.

She has come home telling me stories about him and how she feels bad. We have always told her we never tease other kids. I have even shared stories of how I got teased and it's not nice or fun and these children have a hard time dealing when it happens to them. I share how God loves us and he is very disappointed when he sees this happening to one of his children.

So, when she was filling out her Valentine's, in the boys stack, it came with your ordinary size cards and then 2 big ones with word searches. She saved one for her dad and the other for that little boy. She said to me "I'm giving it to "R" be cause he's the only one that deserves it!"

Awww...bless her heart!!!

What are your thoughts on Valentine's in school?

Writing Workshop: The Grand Finale

1.) Who was at your front door? (inspired by fam mum slim)

Who was at my front door? Well, honestly, we haven't had anyone come to our front door in a while. Either that, or someone has and because we're always on the go, we missed them. Ya know, the last person at my door was probably one of those Pizza Guys employees putting a coupon flyer on our front door.

2. Start with the phrase “Ten years ago on this day, I was…” (inspired by Business 2 Blogger)

Ten years ago on this day, 2/8, I was 5 months pregnant. It was a Friday so I worked. I was so excited too. I probably even did my daily internet check on Babycenter.com. Since we were first time parents, we didn't even find out what the sex was, a pretty exciting time!

3. If you give a Mom a Blank…a post written in the style of the children’s “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” books. (Inspired by Creative Kristi)

If you give a Mom a couple uninterruped hours, depending on the woman, she'll either do some cleaning, go shopping, take a little nap, read, play on the computer or maybe even go for a walk. However, THIS Mom would watch a movie!

4. Without social media I…(inspired by a belle, a bean & a Chicago dog)

Without social media, I would probably get more stuff done. lol I notice, when I just "pop" on for a "few" minutes, it seems to turn into a half hour or even longer. Sometimes, I will be in the middle of doing something and get sidetracked to check maybe a status or see if I have a comment and there goes another half hour. I know, I know....Pathetic! I'm sure I'm not the only one out there...hmmm??

5. A poem for your valentine.

Roses are Red

Violets are Blue

The day wouldn't be the same

If I didn't have You.

So many memories

Each and every year

Some not so good

Others even more dear.

A special little girl

We share this day with now

A special love we have

Simply changes it all somehow.

As we each grow older

We learn a wise lesson

Trust and communicate

Cause marriage is a true Blessin'!

Six Word Saturday!

The Simple Things That Bring Joy!

I'm a girl. Clearly.

With that said, I love cute and adorable things!!

It's the simple things.

Such as waking up and seeing my precious baby in the morning and giving her a kiss and smelling her sweet face just melts me!

But other than that, looking at this dancing flower each morning also puts a smile on my face and happiness in my heart!

What simple thing puts a smile on your face each day?

Who will you be rooting for??

This Sunday is the big day!

Will you be watching?

Who will you be rooting for?

I know who I'm rooting for.

The same as every year....

The commericals

and the food!

That's right!

That's where you'll find me, just like every other year :o)

Writer's Workshop: High School

What was I like in High School?

Well, to be perfectly honest, nothing like I am today.

Okay, I take that back. Not exactly who I am today, just maybe a hint of who I am today.

Too confusing?

Well let's see here...

I was always referred to as "Bobby's little sister" so to be who I was really got overshadowed by who I was referred to as.

{My brother and his bff, Anna at her house}

Everyone knew my brother. He was the cool dude in school. He was part of the stoner group but you could also say he was popular.

Me on the other hand, I was shy and reserved. Nervous or timid and afraid to say anything stupid and look like a dork. Always worried what others would think of me. I never really talked unless you were my friend. Then I was very bubbly and silly. Love to laugh and be a "ham", as my mom would call me.

While in my first year of high school, 10th grade, my brother was a senior. In one of his many annoying moments where he thought it was so funny to pick on me, he decided to spit, yes...spit, gum in my hair. I had to go to the office so they could cut that gum out of my hair. I couldn't wait until he graduated!

Then my junior year began and as always, each time a new school year would begin, I would get all nervous and scared that I wouldn't have any friends in any of my classes or I would be a "loner" at lunch. I made friends though, a few. The only few I would really talk to cause I didn't talk much. I ended up making friends with stoner type people who smoked and just "chilled" cause they were less judgmental. Even though I never smoked, apparently people thought I did though cause when I walked into class, I guess I reeked of it. Yuck! Also, people thought I was stuck-up because I never talked.

Today on the other hand, I'm still shy more or less around people I don't know. I still am bubbly and silly and love to be a "ham" however, I'm also a lot more outspoken. I'm totally ready to tell you what I think if you make me mad and I do NOT care what people think of me.
