You Would Think....

That after 17 years together, I wouldn't care if my husband went away for a few days.

He's leaving for Michigan tomorrow to hang out with his cousin. I tend to get sad when he leaves. I'm also nervous and find myself praying constantly for his safe travels. Constantly praying that he will be safe when he is out and about.

I know he's a grown man but that is just something about me that I tend to stress over constantly about......my family and their safety. I wish it was something I could overcome and I'm sure in time, I will. But for now, I stress.....and pray.....and stress some more.

We have been checking the weather constantly for that region. He flies into Chicago for a layover and then he gets to hop onto a "crop duster" for the remaining flight. With the wind in Chicago, I'm feeling very uneasy about his flight. I know I just need to put faith in the pilots and air traffic controllers to use their best judgement.

On the brighter side of things, I have been trying to plan out some fun things for my daughter and I to keep us occupied with. For instance, Friday night my friend and her two boys will be coming over for a slumber party. Yah!
Then, I was thinking of taking the kiddo to....

just so we can see all there is to see about some of our favorite characters

{I love Peanuts!!!}

And then we will be seeing

And if we're lucky and have enough time, we'll head on over to the Winchester Mystery House. My husband and I have been there but not my daughter so it should be fun for her.

For dinner one night, we'll even be making a homemade pizza....Yum Yum!

I will report back with lots of pictures too.

This should keep us occupied, what do you think?!

Oh The Smell....That Smell!

No matter what, it happens every time.

Ya' see, I just got home from a nice visit at Starbucks with a friend of mine. Every now and then, the two of us will get together at Starbucks {I know, Yum!!} and chitty chat and "catch up".

{via}

It never fails though...

Every time I leave that place and get in the car or home and I'm sitting down relaxing and I have my hair down, with it partially resting on my shoulders and chest, I get the whiff of it, as if I was just hanging out in some evening lounge with a bunch of smokers.

{via}

My hair wreaks of what comes across to me as cigarette smoke. Eww! WHY?

Since I'm not a smoker and never have been, I'm sure you can imagine how much the smell grosses me out even more.

I had my daughter smell it and she said it smells like coffee but not to me. You would think that I would have the sweet smell of my yummy Chai Latte marinating in my nose but nooooo, smoke. Cigarette Smoke and it's gross!!

What is wrong with my sniffer?

"Annoying"...

Sometimes I forget my daughter is only 8 years old. The things she says is what you would hear from an adult. I'm proud of her.....she's smart!

Not to toot my own horn *toot* but when she took the California required S.T.A.R. tests last year, her scores all came back indicating she is advanced in everything! Again I'm proud of her.

But let's get back to the point I'm making....

My daughter dressed up like a Pirate girl but because we stopped off at my parent's house prior to trick-or-treating, my daughter left her pirate hat at my parent's house. She didn't notice that she left it until the very moment I pulled into our driveway at home. I was not about to drive 6 miles back to pick up the hat. My daughter needs to learn responsiblity, so instead, she chose to wear an extra witches hat we had in the garage. Not thrilled she was wearing it but whatever.

So later, I took her trick-or-treating with a friend of mine and her daughter and then my friend's friend whom I've only met one other time. Nice gal, but....

So, while we are watching the kids run from house to house, my daughter stops and asks me "Mommy, can you please hold my hat? It's annoying me." I replied saying sure. That's when I overheard my friend's friend say "I don't think kids that age even know what "annoying" means." I said "Actually, my daughter does. She hears my husband and I talk all the time." She then carried on about how kids just use words not knowing what they mean anyways, blah, blah, blah.

Okay, first of all...who does she think she is? She now sounds like one of the kids. She doesn't even know my daughter! How does she know my daughter doesn't know the meaning? I know my daughter is only 8 years old but give the kid some credit. I'm sure she's not the only 8 year old out there that knows what the word "annoying" means.

That just annoyed me so bad (still does) that later, as we were driving home, I asked my daughter "Honey, what does the word "annoying" mean?" and she replied saying "It means when someone or something is bothering you."

OKAY?! Geez!

I know I shouldn't let it bother me but COME ON!

So, the word for today is.....ANNOYING!!

Happy Halloween!

To me, this officially starts the holiday season. Every year I look forward to this time of year. It's like 3 months of continuous decorations and fun.....& I love it!

I also look at a calendar year like a came of Candyland. No one has really understood it like me but I enjoy holidays just like a child enjoys landing on the candies of the Candyland game.

It's exciting!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Halloween!

Oh, and because I love all things Disney, I had to share this little gem that I found...

Bieber Fever...

So, last night was the Justin Bieber concert.

I'll admit, I wasn't looking forward to it. However, I was looking forward to the time I was going to spend with my "Nuggy".

My husband and his brother came along however, decided to hang out in Downtown San Jose to have some beers while my daughter and I saw the concert.

All went as planned.

My daughter got her shirt...

I took some pictures and video...

{forgive the picture quality....taken with my phone}

Couldn't believe that my child yelled out "I love you Justin Bieber" at one point.

That was only after she heard other girls saying it.

Geez...what do girls at my daughter's age know about love??

Silly, silly girls!

The concert was pretty good too. The kid is really talented! And to think he got his start all from Youtube?! Good for him!

All in all, it was good except when a "tiff" happened that had to make the experience go sour. It's just a bummer some people have to behave the way they do.

I think I am done with concerts for now.

Oh wait....

That's right. My husband wants to go to one on Monday in Oakland.

Calgon...take me away!

For Me....?

I need to remember that I have this blog for one purpose. That is to keep a journal of my life, what I am about and my experiences. What I think and feel. All for one person.

I started this whole blog for the sole purpose of keeping family members up to date on family stuff and pictures. I thought it was a cute and fun idea. Not many family members jumped on board. For the simple fact that, well...I guess some people don't spend as much time on the computer as others. Noted!

Then it became an outlet to voice my feelings and thoughts when I needed to. When I'm not feeling myself, yet alone instead.

It worked.

Then people listened and it helped to know I wasn't alone.

Then it got to the point that I put up a blog tracker. Letting me know how many people came to read what I had to say. WOW! People want to hear what I have to say?!

They then would comment! I loved it!

It became a desired thing within my blog. Log in just to see if anyone "loved me".

Sick! I know. I'm honest. I know I'm not alone either.
{That's okay. I'm sure they have a support group for us.}

Then it all started to slow down. My stats weren't as high as they were. My comments were fewer. Why? I asked myself. Did I offend someone? Am I just not "interesting" enough anymore? What happened?

That's when I realized to myself....

"Snap out of this obsession, Kimmy! Really?! How pathetic!"

This isn't for me, this isn't for anyone but one person.....

She is the one that I write for. One day I won't be here and I would love for her to have something to read to remember me by. Something special to hold onto.

{Especially since I would drive her nuts by blogging all the time.}

So in all reality, yes, I still do this for me but I'm doing it for my daughter and whether or not I get "followers" or "comments" shouldn't matter.

Who are you blogging for?

A Whirlwind of a Year

I would have to say that this has probably been the most stressful year for us as of yet.

From two major events in our life (one not completely over however, today has just officially made it official). Making something officially official is big and not always in a good sense. However, we are taking life in strides and looking at things in a positive manner. In fact, things are going to be okay. Perhaps even better now!

We have each other.

We also have the good Lord who has seen us through our trials and helped us through them and made us wiser and stronger because of them.

What keeps you grounded?
