Key West (Day 1)

Well, we're back from vacation and honestly, as most people would say....

I'm so sad it is over!

BTW...with such a short trip, I have so much to share so I'm gonna share by a "day by day" basis, so I hope you'll join me in this 4 day journey with me ;o)

I am still recovering from it too. I have been going to bed at 9:30pm the last few days trying to get my rest back. It was so worth it though!

We did so much in such a short period of time. We arrived in Key West around 2:35pm Saturday (Sept 3rd) however, our flight from San Francisco left at 12:25am Saturday morning. We tried to sleep on the plane but we had a layover in Houston so I only got about 1.5 to 2 hrs sleep while my husband couldn't sleep a wink. Poor guy. The kiddo was able to sleep more than us though.

From Houston, we flew to Tampa for another layover. On our flight from Houston, guess who was on our flight??

Brian McKnight!

Then we hopped on our flight to Key West.

Once we got there and checked into our hotel, we decided to make our way down Duval Street, at which point we booked our parasailing adventure for Sunday morning and then the Dolphin/Snorkeling/Sunset Cruise package for later Sunday evening.
We had a bit of excitement during our snorkeling trip too. Can't wait to share!

After booking our adventures, we found a great spot in Mallory Square for drinks and to enjoy the first sunset there in Key West.

A couple Key Lime Colada's was my enjoyment!! YUM!

Oh, and there were so many photo opportunites to be had too!

Trivia: This island you see above, it's called Sunset Island and Oprah, Pierce Brosnan and Kenny Chesney all own houses on there.

After the sunset, it was time for dinner at Two Friend's Patio Restaurant.

Talk about a small world? Our waitress is from San Rafael, Ca, which is right by us!

After dinner, we made our way down Duval Street back to our hotel but we had to stop by Sloppy Joes as they have a webcam. I called one of my friends who saw us while I was talking with her. Then, I started getting texts from another friend who just so happened to be on the website just as we showed up in front of it.

These are pics they started sending us of us on the webcam...

After that, we called it a night so we could be rested up for the next days adventures.
