Writers Workshop: Thanksgiving Edition

With it being Thanksgiving, I have to take a moment and say "Thank you Mama Kat for our weekly prompts! When I have a week where I can't think of anything to write about, there you are to provide me with something. Thank you so much!!"

Now head over to Mama Kat's to participate!

Okay, this week I've decided to do two prompts. #4 and #5.

With #4, I was originally not going to write about this because my daughter didn't want me to blog about it but it seriously made my husband and I laugh and I wanted to share it with you all. (sorry baby!! Mommy loves you!) I just hope it isn't one of those "You just had to be there" moments. At the very least, I hope it puts a smile on your face.

With #5, I just HAD to do the Thanksgiving poem because I am very grateful for what I have!

4.) Write a story in exactly 101 words. (winner gets a 25 dollar gift card!)(inspired by Jennifer from The Peterson's Go Public)

During a recent trip to Old Sacramento, we were having random conversations. At one point, we starting talking about our Tuesday movie night that was coming up. We recently decided to make Tuesdays movie night, so we wanted to decide on what movie we would go see. As we were naming movies, my husband would say "I don't want to see that" or I would say "That's PG-13, not appropriate for the baby". Then my husband said...

Husband: "How about we get a babysitter and we'll go on a date?"

Me: "Awww, yeah! That's so sweet!"

Baby: "Awwwww....NOT so sweet!!"

My Thanksgiving Poem

It's that time again
It's a reminder of what we should say
A reminder to be thankful
For each and every day

For our loved ones in our lives
Who bring love and joy to us
For it is them
That we so care for and trust

For it is a reminder
Not to take those we so dearly love
And our lives for granted
But to thank the Good Lord above!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!!

Happy Thanksgiving to you too. I really love this holiday. We eat leftovers for days. I just feel so creative with the food leftovers, and my family is so willing to try whatever I make for them.
