Writing Assignment: My Hubby!

Mama Kat is at it again. Check here for this week's prompts.

This week I've chosen to do #1.

Describe your significant other's most attractive quality (on the inside).

Yes, my hubby! I married him for so many different reasons. He's very intelligent, serious, funny, a smart-ass (just as long as it's not directed at me, of course!), kind, he can be loving, strong, tall and he's handsome. I love him! But there is more to him than just these things. He's Daddy! A good one at that!

We have been together for 16 years this year. We got married after 8 years together and welcomed our daughter 1 year and 2 days later.

When we found out I was pregnant, we had only been married 3 1/2 months. We were overwhelmed with happiness! We were ready for this! My hubby was so happy and excited he wanted to call and tell his family right away. I then called my parents after. This was a brand new start to our new life together!

We never found out what we were having. We wanted to be surprised! I love surprises :o) However, the name deciding was a rough one. For the boys name anyway. We had decided on a name before I got pregnant but once the time actually came is when the trouble started. The girls name was no problem. It was set and all was good. As the months grew closer, I just hoped we had a girl so this wouldn't be an issue.

Sure enough, the time came and we welcomed our daughter into this world! It was a beautiful day! My husband took on the role so well. I had always seen him with other people's children and how good he was with them, playing and interacting with them. It was so sweet! Now, to see him with our own child. She was so tiny in his arms. It left him speechless as he just looked at her. She was so beautiful!

Through the years as she has grown, I love to see him play with her like I saw him play with my friend's children. They get rough housing sometimes or I'll find him playing Barbie's with her. He even taught her to ride her bike. He's so good at giving her praises which makes me feel good. She needs that reassurance from me but also from her Daddy.

My hubby is a tough guy. Not much can tear into him but I can always tell when she melts his heart in certain moments. She'll say something so sweet or cute and the look on his face, then he'll look at me and it will melt my heart too. Those are one of the many moments we just want to give her a great big hug!

My daughter is a Mama's girl but she also has her moments of being a Daddy's girl which warms my heart to know this. To see my hubby and my daughter bond together makes me feel good that she will have these great moments and memories with her daddy as she gets older.
