Writing Assignment - My Brother

Mama Kat is at it again! Go here to join her in her weekly assignments.

This week I have chosen to do....

5.) Write about something mean you did to a sibling growing up.

I'm going to put a twist on mine though. You see, I have a brother and I'm the little sister. See where this is going??? Growing up with my brother, we spent many summers together ALONE while our parents were at work. That's when the fun stopped.

First, let get MY mean thing out of the way. I was a tattle tail! Yes, ME! I told on my brother ALL THE TIME!! Oh, don't roll your eyes and give me the "tsk tsk". I had to! I had to protect myself. Now, onto the mean things that MY brother did to me to lead me to tattle tail.

On those many summers together, my brother would chase me around the house with my dad's BB gun. He would even pull the trigger and say "It's not loaded!"

Or he would chase me outside the house in the mornings while I was still in my pj's and then lock the door. Our neighbor even caught glimpse of this on several occasions.

One time he even took his handkerchief (yes, in the 80's they used those! lol) and flicked it at me only to have it cut my eyeball and I had to go to the doctor's and leave looking like a pirate.

And let's not forget the time he would wake me to Metallica blaring in the next room as my wall rumbled.

Trust me, I learned very quickly to get up when my mom was getting ready for work and then I would get ready myself as my brother lay sleeping oh so cuddly in bed. I would rush to complete my chores that by the time he was getting up, I was out the door making my way over my friends house to avoid torment. Aww...yes, the memories! I laugh about it now. I can laugh about the time he put me in the garbage can outside. What would childhood be without having your big brother tormenting you. Believe me though, he was there for me when someone tried bullying me.

My brother and I have a great relationship now! We're older and more mature. I'm just glad we can think back to all the times me had and laugh.

ha...eerily familiar! i was thinking the same thing. i can't believe my parents left me home alone with him all summer. i was tortured for 3 months out of every year we spend together!

yeah...they never believed my stories. my brother was smart and could always spin the story and make himself seem innocent. he truly was the "master!"

Haha! I was the little sister too, but I think that my brother was too much older than me to do much of anything. I think that I was the annoying one...
Cut your eye with a handkerchief? That is HORRIBLE!!
Glad that you survived!
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
