Writing Assignment: Ode to Oz!

Mama Kat had some great prompts this week but when she had one about writing a poem about our furry friend, I had to do this one. Reason being, the day I saw the prompts was the same morning I had gotten up with my dog 3 times in the middle of the night to let him out. I just knew I had to include that it my poem too.
So, here goes.

Ode to Oz (Ozzy)

He's the hyper one
Who greets me each and every day.
The one that loves laying around
Or just being in the way.

He's the hyper one
That loves to play with his toys.
Running and jumping
Up and down for joy.

He's the hyper one
While we're sleeping in bed.
He'd rather be outside
Going potty instead.

He's the hyper one
Who has terrible breathe.
It's so bad
It smells like death.

He's the hyper one
Who will stomp his feet.
Whine and cry
Until he gets his cookie treat.

He's the hyper one
And even though he acts like the king.
I love my little boy
And I wouldn't change a thing.

~~~
Now head on over to Mama Kat's and see what others are writing about.
I wrote an ode to my dog, too - but yours is much better and describes my dog to a T!
You do a really good job with the rhyming scheme! I'm so horrible with keeping up rhymes in sync. I'm not much of a poet. I can write longer prose, but not poems. Unless I'm just really inspired.
You ol' Softy.
Great job, no foolin'.
We do for our dogs what no one would do for us, doncha think?
